QUESTIONS WE ARE FREQUENTLY ASKED ABOUT our BURLESQUE CLASSES
Burlesque is the new way to feel good about yourself although burlesque is historically a form of cabaret. Modern burlesque is about posture, stage presence, lavish costumes, eccentricity, the art of striptease and much more. A burlesque artiste captivates her audience with beauty, dance and tease. Burlesque is such a wide subject it is hard to tie it down with just a few lines so a simple google search should help you with your quest. Why not search for modern day burlesque belles such as Catherine D'Lish and Dita Von Teese
We encourage students to wear whatever they feel comfortable in. Shoes with a heel are not essential for burlesque and if you cannot comfortably walk in them please do not wear them in class as you will be doing movements that you might not be used to doing in a heel. Given time we will teach you to walk in heels
Clothes-wise, something comfortable - leggings, shorts, dance wear is great. Some students say they feel more the part by 'going for it' and wearing corsets, tea dresses, fascinators. It really is up to you.
